Security, Logins, and Website Access
Control who can access your Crypt Keeper Online account, manage user permissions, and securely share read-only information directly through your own website.
Getting Started
From your dashboard, select Security / Users. This area allows you to create users, edit existing accounts, remove access, and control what each person is allowed to view or modify within your system.
Important: Only users with Master access are allowed to manage security settings and user accounts.
Managing Users
You will see a list of users already associated with your account. Click an existing username to make changes, or choose Add New User to create another login for staff, volunteers, or office personnel.
After making your changes, click Save to update the account. If a user should no longer have access to the system, simply click Delete.
User Permission Levels
Permission settings allow you to control exactly what each user can access within your account. This helps protect important information while giving staff members only the tools they need.
Master
Full access to all areas of the system including users, security, records, configuration settings, reports, and maps.
Admin
Can edit records and work within the system, but cannot modify security settings, configuration, or map editing tools.
Images
Allows image uploads without granting regular editing access to records.
View Only
Users can search and view information, but cannot make any changes to records.
No Reports
Prevents the user from generating reports while still allowing normal system access.
Website Integration and Handshake Access
The Crypt Keeper Online also supports a secure “handshake” connection that allows visitors on your own website to seamlessly access cemetery records without needing to manually log in again.
This is especially useful for cemeteries, churches, and municipalities that want to provide a smooth public search experience directly from their existing website while still maintaining controlled and secure access behind the scenes.
You can create dedicated read-only website users specifically for this purpose, allowing the public to search and view records safely without exposing administrative functions or sensitive account controls.
